Of the many snakes found in the residence, officers discovered a spitting cobra (whose venom can go 10 feet) rattlesnakes, black mambas, and pythons, officials said.

On Jan. 19, at 6 p.m., a neighbor called police to check on the man who they had not seen since the day before. When officers arrived they found the resident laying on the floor, unconscious, according to the Charles County Sheriff's Office.

The 49-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Inside the home were more than 100 venomous and non-venomous snakes in tanks and racks.

Investigators believe there are no signs of foul play but are waiting for an official autopsy report.
